Job Title: Soil Conservationist

Thanh is an environmentalist and conservationist in and outside of the NRCS-USDA Agency. She holds a degree in Biology and has been a Soil Conservationist since 2017. In addition to helping clients, she carries the roles of Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Special Emphasis Program Manager (AANHPI SEPM) for Rhode Island and Massachusetts and Beginning Farmer and Rancher (BFR) Coordinator for Rhode Island.
Outside of the Agency, Thanh applies conservation science on her no-till specialty cut flower farm business called Petals Farm RI. Since 2014, her mission to grow high quality cut flowers with the most environmentally sound practices, encourage community building, and develop meaningful apprenticeship to pass forward. Her favorite flower is Lisianthus. Thanh firmly lives by the notion that growth and expansion have no limits when backed by passion, discipline, and perseverance.
When not working, you can find Thanh playing tennis and volleyball, hiking, researching, having bon fires, listening to music and reading. Her bedside book at the moment is “The Obstacle is the Way” by Ryan Holiday.
