Job Title: Soil Conservationist

Tyler Tran is a Mid-Western native. Born and raised in Oklahoma, his family moved to Missouri in his teenage years, and he received a degree in Natural Resources from Missouri State University. After working with the Missouri Department of Conservation, Tyler accepted a position as a Soil Conservation Technician in Clear Lake, South Dakota. He is currently serving as a Soil Conservationist in Hayti, South Dakota. In addition to being the Northern Plains Representative of APIO, he also serves as the Brookings Area Representative of the Civil Rights Advisory Committee and the Secretary of the South Dakota Soil and Water Conservation Society.

Tyler is a multi-racial, first generation American. His father is Vietnamese, and his mother is Caucasian/Native American. He enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and kayak fishing. He also loves music and plays the guitar (most times very poorly).
