In 1989, Francis C. H. Lum retired as Assistant Chief from the USDA Soil Conservation Service and achieved the highest position within SCS/NRCS among Asians and Pacific Islanders.
Arun C. Basu - Second APIO to be appointed to the NRCS Senior Executive Service
Arun has been appointed as Special Assistant to the Chief for Outreach & Diversity since Dec. 7, 2004. Arun is only the second APIO to attain the SES rank.
